Mamalo Village House

Papua New Guinea Culture, in use from prehistoric times; the "saddle roof" has roots in Yayoi Period of Japan (300 B.C.E - 300 C.E.), and aboriginal Austronesian culture dating from 12,000 B.C.E.

Elevation is close to sea coast.

Materials: Wooden frame of diverse tree species, covered in thatch cladding.
