Yaxchilan
Maya Civilization, Early Classic to Late Classic, 359 C.E. - 808 C.E.; located on the Usumacita River in the state of Chiapas, Mexico adjacent to the border of Guatemala. Some archaeologist believe there was a suspension bridge with a long span of 63 meters that connected the city with the north shore of the River, which allowed for commerce when the city became an island during rainy season. It was langest suspension bridge in the world at the time. Elevation is c. 180 meters (590 feet) above sea level. Materials: stone. Data for CG model:
