Awām Temple (Mahram Bilqis)

Sabaean Culture, Temple Awām, also known as Mahram Bilqis, is located in Marib, Yemen. The Temple was dedicated to Ilmaqah (or Almaqah, the Sun God) the national god of the Sabaean kingdom of Sheba, built c. 7th Century, B.C.E. This was an important pre-Islamic center located on one of the principal caravan rounds linking the Mediterranean civilizations with the Arabian Peninsula prospering on the trade monopoly of frankincense and myrrh from the southern Yemeni coastal region of Hadhramaut.

Elevation is c.1102 meters (3615 feet) above sea level.
