Emporer Nintoku Mausoleum (Daisenryo Kofan)

 

Japanese Culture, Constructed in the 5th Century C.E., presumably for the Emporor 6, it is the third largest known tomb in the world. Located in Daisen Tow, Sakai Ward, Sakai City, Osaka.

Elevation is c. 22 meters (72 feet) above sea level.

Materials: water moats from which earth was dredged to form the mound of the tumulus; the three tiered slope of the tumulus is covered with stone and grass.
