Koryak Underground House

Koryak Culture , located in Kamchatka Krai, in the Russian Far East, along the coast of the Bering Staits. The Koryak are relatives of Chukchis Culture, as well as Haida, Gwaii, Tlingit, Tsimshian of the Alaska and Northwest Coast Amerindians; incorporates unique roof top nest or dish, used socially; house form originated in ancient times and is still in use today.

Elevation is c. sea level.

Materials: wood structure banked with earth.
