Kurgan Indo-European Sythian Culture, the kurgan is a burial mound covering a burial chamber or chambers and are often made of wood logs in horizontal tongue and groove patterns; originating in the Eurasian Steppes dating from c. 9th century B.C.E., the kurgan spread throughout Europe and Asia c. 4th century B.C.E.
