Pueblo Shé Ruin

Pueblo Shé is a large Pueblo IV–Classic period Ancestral Pueblo village with principal occupation dating to the 15th century (AD 1375–1500). It is about 23 miles south of Santa Fe on the west side of the Arroyo de la Jara. Above is the survey of Pueblo Blanco's room blocks and geologial featuret, by Danish archeologist, Nels C. Nelson, 1914. Nelson measured at least 14 separate roomblock buildings and 5 middens (refuse mounds). Separate roomblocks are often connected at right angles, producing 7 compltetey enclosed plazas. Nelson's survey established that the ruins are composed of at least 1,543 ground-floor rooms but which was perhaps half of the total given the secon and third story rooms.

Elevation is1576 meters (5170 feet) above sea level.
