Residence K at Dur-Sharrukin

Assyrian Civilization, very large double courtyard residence begun c. 717 B.C.E.; located in the the Assyrian capital in the time of Sargon II; located in modern-day Khorsabad, in northern Iraq.

Materials: sun-dried earth (adobe) bricks covered with kiln-fired glased bricks
laid in natural occurring bitumen, wood beams and columns.
